Senior secondary school

FISNCI combined the Cambridge Upper Secondary and Cambridge Advanced to make up his HIGH SCHOOL.

In Year 10 and Year 11, it is the Cambridge Upper Secondary programme which is delivered. It is generally aimed at learners aged 14 to 16 and offers learners the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) route, a diploma recognized throughout the world. Cambridge Upper Secondary builds on the foundations of Cambridge Lower Secondary.

The Cambridge IGCSE curriculum offers a variety of pathways for learners with a wide range of abilities, including those whose first language is not English.

For learners, Cambridge IGCSE helps improve performance by developing creative thinking, research and problem-solving skills. It is the ideal springboard for advanced studies. There are over 70 subjects available at Cambridge IGCSE, including 30 languages, and schools can offer them in any combination. Cambridge IGCSE develops the learner’s knowledge, understanding and skills in the following areas:

  • Object content
  • Apply knowledge and understanding to new and familiar situations
  • Intellectual inquiry
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to change
  • Work and communicate in English
  • Influence results
  • Cultural awareness.

Cambridge IGCSE’s programmes are internationally oriented, but retain local relevance. They are created specifically for an international student body and avoid cultural bias.

In Year 12 and Year 13, the Cambridge Advanced programme is delivered at FISNCI. This programme is generally aimed at learners aged 16-19 who need advanced study to prepare for university and higher education. It offers learners Cambridge International AS & A Levels.

Cambridge Advanced builds on the foundations of Cambridge Upper Secondary. Thousands of learners around the world secure places at top universities every year through Cambridge International AS & A Levels. The programme develops a deep understanding of topics and independent thinking skills. Cambridge International AS & A Level develops learners’ knowledge, understanding and skills in the following areas:

This programme offers a choice of 55 subjects and schools can offer them in almost any combination. This flexibility means that schools can develop an individualized curriculum and learners can choose to specialize in a particular area or study a range of subjects.

Cambridge International A-Level is usually a two-year course, and Cambridge International AS Level is usually one year. Some subjects can be started as a Cambridge International AS Level and extended to a Cambridge International A-Level.
